About Denise
Denise Tanguay is an author, artist and musician who helped pioneer the first wave of the riot grrrl music movement as a bass player and singer-songwriter of the Phoenix all-female band Burning Bush. Since then, she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, married her music producer, became a mother, and launched an award-winning communications career while continuing to play music in bands.
Her writing about music, art and travel has appeared in Art Patron, WHERE, Paperback Jukebox and Joshua Tree Voice magazines. Her communications clients have included top healthcare, arts and educational organizations.
When she’s not writing or performing, you can find Denise walking in nature, biking along the coast, or traveling with her husband in their camper van. She lives in Southern California with her husband, son, and the best dog ever.
